February 2021

Welcome to the latest edition of the TerraLink newsletter. As this issue is being published news headlines in the US have begun to report that some suppliers are struggling to keep up with demand. Unable to spend disposable income on vacations, concerts, and dining out, consumers are instead buying cars, home improvements, and appliances. The demand is causing some producers to add overtime and even weekend shifts. As a lack of availability grows for essential materials, labor, and infrastructure support personnel, orders are backlogging in manufacturers’ supply chains.

While overall this bodes well for the US economy, ramping up to meet the demand needs to be a combination of adding shifts or resources and leveraging process improvements and automations. In this edition of Content Matters, we focus on key areas for process automations, collaboration, and channels for OpenText expertise on demand.

Collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams and Microsoft SharePoint have exploded in use, in part because of the pandemic's effects on conducting business. Maintaining control of your enterprise information and managing the lifecycle of Teams has been made much easier with the
OpenText new release that has deeper integrations with Microsoft® Office 365™

Next, learn how
VIM CE 20.4 has been enhanced with a list of standard documents to now support order confirmations, delivery notes, quotations, sales orders, remittance advices, and additional document types that can be configured as needed.

Lastly, we address how
OpenText Expertise on Demand can fill critical skill set gaps or augment over-stretched infrastructure support teams in response to production operations ramping up to meet growing demand.

Stay safe and be sure to continue practicing good health habits, especially as most of us await getting our Covid-19 vaccination shots.

OpenText™ Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) for SAP® Solutions CE 20.4 is the first release to formally showcase the vastly increased scope of document types that VIM can support. Historically VIM was focused solely on automating the processing of invoices. However, with 20.4 the list of standard documents that VIM supports now includes order confirmation, delivery notes, quotation, sales orders, remittance advices and additional document types can be configured as needed. This means that a single solution can now support a much wider range of financial and accounts payable processes.

Vendor Invoice Management, like Extended ECM for SAP, also now fully supports SAP S/4HANA Cloud Extended Edition. Customers can take advantage of the capabilities offered in VIM natively within SAP S/4HANA Cloud Extended Edition and leverage OpenText™ Core Capture for SAP® Solutions as an optional cloud-based capture service and OpenText™ Core Archive for SAP Solutions for document viewing and control purposes.

Learning how to upgrade your current
VIM deployment and attain true invoice processing efficiencies is easy when talking to the ECM experts at TerraLink.
